The Reality of the Spiritual Streets

I would like to start by saying that this does NOT include everyone that participates in any religion or organization, and this is just my opinion so if it don’t apply…

My intention is to make you aware that just like anywhere else, THIS SHIT IS REAL, and requires a ton of awareness, especially within yourself to avoid the dangers of coming across the wrong ones—rather those in these spiritual streets with ill intentions. In other words, stay woke.

To keep it real with ya’ll, I’ve been in these spiritual streets since I was 16 years old and indoctrinated in the Christian church for much longer. One thing has been consistent throughout my life as I’m quickly approaching my mid-30s is I’ve sat back long enough to determine what the biggest problems are across all these religions, organizations—whatever you call them and that’s ego.

The Human ego can be a muthafucka and in my personal opinion the basis for a lot of the things that go awry regardless of what and how you practice.

It’s the ego that produces jealousy, envy, power struggles, greed, and will have you playing “divide and conquer” even among your allies. No wonder there’s so much paranoia. Sometimes it’s obvious among the so-called “Leaders” but, I think we often forget about those that want to be in close proximity to that “power”, or don’t believe in their own, that they also corrupt themselves and others. A large part of it is Patriarchy, but it’s not the only ingredient in this sour ass recipe. But at least half…85-90%. The rest is mental health, emotional capacity, misandry and colorism.

Now it’s important to note that some people are just self-centered by nature, narcissistic, and some muthafuckas are just all around evil, and it doesn’t change just because of status or spiritual rank. if anything it makes them worse. We see that shit with the papacy (The Catholic Church) and the shit that’s been alleged with them over the last 50 years, and we’ve definitely seen in the Black Christian community and low key it operates far worse, in my opinion because that slavery indoctrination is still attached. AND—yes, i started this sentence with “and” (with a whole ass english degree lol) DO NOT think for one second this shit don’t play out in the Spiritual community too, especially among ATRs (African Traditional Religion). ALL’um even Kemetism and Hoodoo.

Is that a bold statement? Nah, it’s a truthful one. Speaking from my own experience and thanks to Tik Tok the shit’s been exposing itself IF you’ve really been watching. especially within sects one cannot be apart of. We’re not getting into that part right now, I’ll save that for another blog.

But it happens EVERYWHERE and the fucked up behaviors stemming from unchecked egos are making a mockery of the true intention behind the missions of these faiths, which simply was to love one another, and to accept what you cannot change outside of yourself, UNLESS it disturbs the peace of the greatest good, the balance.

In terms of the ATRs, I really need to address this. I’ve been on and off this block since i was 16, hell my first “Love” was a Babalawo, and high key a fucking predator, seeing as how he was almost 16 years my senior. Starting off, don’t this shit sound familiar Christian folks?

But anyway from the beginning I felt distracted from learning the true beauty of Ifa, and the other factions of it because from the start—especially fucking around with that idiot, it felt like one big MLM. It was all about the money, and who and how you were going to use someone to get to your goals. Almost 17 years later and I hate to say it’s even worse.

Again was that everybody? NO.

I have met and still learn from those who are very much in these practices and walk it like they talk it. But to keep it a bean, the struggle for power, and money is causing problems it’s really turned into a pimp and hoe game.

So it’s no surprise when the pandemic hit and it made its way to tik tok, I shook my head cause some of these folks had no idea. I’ll say it again, the ego is a muthafucka and jealousy is a big deal, which brings me to this point here:

These Spiritual Streets, especially among the magickal practitioners ain’t no different from gang banging! i can say that as somebody who’s had family “bout that life” and as someone living this spiritual one. You’d be surprised how many people get caught up in bullshit their ego couldn’t let go of, and now they got their Godchildren, Sisters and Brothers out here “representing for the house” and getting them fucked up in the process. Or outright using them as pawns to provide for them, meanwhile never telling them the real problem. Sometimes not allowing them to see THEY ARE THE PROBLEM. leading them to slaughter with half truths, lies and omissions, and any questions are led with gaslighting and questions of ones loyalty, probably leading to getting your ass whooped, or worse. Depends on the Hive mentality.

I said it. This shit ain’t all LOVE AND LIGHT, and anybody that tells you that either don’t know it yet, or they need to be side-eyed.

There are some real bullies out here that CAN SEE your ashe (personal power and authority) even if you can’t. Some of the more envious folks can see what your potential is and low-key some will do divination on you in the background, get close to you, fuck your head up, try to cripple you, and worse. The saddest thing about it is that these low vibrating ego driven folks feel no ways tied about gaslighting the fuck out of you, taunting you, bleeding you dry, or TAKING what they want from you, and what makes this dangerous is it doesn’t take much for them to come for you.

The magickal warfare is real too, and sadly a lot of folks only join and use others to pay for initiations so they can learn how to obtain power and gifts, just so they can fuck other people up. they aren’t interested in the teachings not even a little bit. Don’t that sound familiar, Christian folks?

What’s even sadder is they don’t realize, or don’t give a shit (Which is also true) about how it will impact them or, their future generations later on. High key, I truly believe some of these generational curses could have been avoided if a muthafucka had sense enough to let some petty shit slide. instead they push through, making bargains with spirits and entities they ain’t even trying to pay back, and they end up getting packed up, or pass on naturally after a long life, but these spirits ain’t been paid, and some are getting it through the children.

Some may even do it on purpose, and that’s selfish as fuck. Employing a future generation to put out fires you started, and you NEVER tell them, (it wouldn’t surprise me if some were ‘Boomers).

This is why I encourage anyone to take time to find the right mentors and teachers, not so much the ones eager to take you on all the time. as we are all human, anyone can be influenced by their own personal insecurities. I also urge you to check yourself internally from the inside out before you commit to anything or anyone. Get yourself in order.

That being said i also don’t believe everyone should have access to these Spiritual Streets, and I hope the gates gets tighter.

Over all, no matter which way you go the issue of EGO remains, and you have to protect yourself physically and mentally. As of late we’re seeing it play out all over the place and it’s necessary cause frankly it’s sickening the shit i’ve seen and experienced. this is exactly why Pluto is sitting in Aquarius, cause shit needs to change. NOBODY is exempt.

This post right here is especially for the newbies out here, don’t come out here blind or yanked into it through some romanticized lens. Do your inner work first, so that you can rely on your own instincts as you go about your spiritual journey. Because the truth is you never really know who you’ll run into and some are VERY skilled as masking the truth. Protect yourselves, stay prayed up, and as your awareness begins to expand you can trust spirit will bring in the proper influences, although you won’t be exempt from any tests (Elegua is gonna definitely make sure lol).

For the Wiccans, Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc. best believe your patron demons and angels are going to test you too. This way of life is not a competition, or a climb to the top, but a process in which you find your way to the truth of love, and it has many facets, and sadly dangerous twists and turns. No matter which path you take.

Remember ya’ll. self-awareness, self-love, empathy, boundaries, compassion, and vigilance (paying attention) are the keys to making it through this journey and frankly the rocky road ahead as these systems begin to shift, crumble and re-vamp.
